Michelle Thaller do observatório de infravermelhos SIRTF:

"Hi there. It's no wonder you're confused -astronomers aren't sure
whether Jupiter has a solid core or not. Some scientists think their
data supports the idea, but others disagree. No one knows for sure. We
do know that Jupiter's mass implies that the core is much, much denser
and hotter than the cloud tops we observe, but no one knows if there is
a solid body inside. Maybe we'll figure that one out someday soon."
